Five Wineries You Don’t Want To Miss
Arkansas is a magnificent state full of entertaining and enjoyable things to do. One of Arkansas’ biggest commodities is the plethora of wineries located throughout the state. The tradition of great wine in Arkansas can be traced all the way back to 1880 in the Arkansas River Valley. The five wineries showcased below are not the only ones in Arkansas’ wine country, but they are on the list of the “must visits” due to their rich history and the quality of their products.
Arkansas is the home of the world renown Altus Wine Trail. Wiederkehr Wine Cellars is located on the trail and is among the oldest as well as the largest wineries in America. Not to be out done, Chateau aux Arc is next up with its tasting room atop St. Mary’s Mountain. Mount Bethel Winery is next on the list located at the foot of the Ozark Mountains. Following along the trail is the Post Familie Vineyards and Winery which is the largest in Arkansas and is operated by the third generation of the Post family. Last but definitely not least is Cowie Wine Cellars and Museum. The museum is dedicated to Arkansas’ wineries and their art of wine-making.
